Hazmat Certified Handler

About the role

Most prep centers turn hazmat away. We do not, and that is a real part of why sellers come to us. The hazmat handler processes regulated shipments to DOT 49 CFR and IMDG 172 standards, from classifying the material through documentation, compliant packaging, and labeling. You are the person who keeps these shipments moving without cutting a corner, because a mistake here is a safety and compliance problem, not just a flagged listing. If you are not certified yet but you have the right temperament for regulated work, we will pay to get you certified.

What you will do

• Process DOT 49 CFR and IMDG 172 regulated shipments to standard
• Complete shipping papers and hazmat documentation accurately
• Package and label regulated goods in compliant materials
• Keep certification current and stay on top of regulation changes
• Advise the floor on what can and cannot ship as prepped

What we are looking for

• DOT and IMDG hazmat certification, or willingness to certify with our support
• Meticulous with documentation and regulated procedures
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and follow strict handling protocols
• Comfortable being accountable for compliance on every regulated shipment

Nice to have

• Current 49 CFR and IMDG 172 certification
• Experience shipping hazmat through Amazon or freight carriers

About Dispatch Fulfillment

Dispatch Fulfillment started in 2017 as a one-person operation in a Pittsburgh bedroom. Today we run a 20,000 square foot facility in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania with four loading docks and a team of six. We handle Amazon FBA prep, Walmart WFS, FBM and direct-to-consumer fulfillment, warehousing, kitting, and freight forwarding. We are also hazmat certified to DOT 49 CFR and IMDG 172, which very few prep centers can handle.
