Shift Lead

Runs the floor for a shift, assigns work against the daily backlog, and keeps throughput steady as the first escalation point.
About the role
The shift lead runs the floor. You look at the day's backlog, assign associates to stations, and keep work moving so shipments go out on schedule. When a station backs up or a client shipment needs to jump the queue, you make the call and rebalance. You are the first person an associate comes to with a question and the first person the operations manager leans on to know where the day stands. Strong leads come from the floor and know the prep work cold before they run it.
What you will do
- Assign associates to stations against the daily prep and shipping backlog
- Track throughput through the shift and rebalance when a station falls behind
- Serve as first escalation for prep questions and floor issues
- Run opening or closing procedures and hand off a clear status to the next shift
- Coach associates on prep standards and safe material handling
What we are looking for
- Prior fulfillment, warehouse, or prep experience with a grasp of FBA and FBM standards
- Comfortable directing a small team and making calls under time pressure
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and cover a station when volume spikes
- Dependable, since the shift starts when you do
Nice to have
- Prior lead or supervisor experience
- Forklift or pallet jack certification

Dispatch Fulfillment started in 2017 as a one-person operation in a Pittsburgh bedroom. Today we run a 20,000 square foot facility in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania with four loading docks and a team of six. We handle Amazon FBA prep, Walmart WFS, FBM and direct-to-consumer fulfillment, warehousing, kitting, and freight forwarding. We are also hazmat certified to DOT 49 CFR and IMDG 172, which very few prep centers can handle.
